It’s been a wild ride for NFL fans to determine who won ho would win the MVP award for the 2019 season. After months of speculation, the award finally went to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
I was personally thrilled when I heard the news because I have been following Mahomes’s career since he was the first choice of the Chiefs during the 2017 NFL Draft. I know it has been such a journey for him to earn the respect of other NFL players and he deserves all the accolades he is receiving.
The 24-year-old has truly taken the NFL by storm and it was evident from early on in the season that he had a legitimate chance of taking home the MVP award. His stats have been unbelievably good, surpassing even some of the all-time greats.
His ability to throw the ball accurately and lead his team to success is something that has left me in awe. I mean, have you seen the way he can run the ball and battle against the toughest of defenses and still come out victorious?
Even with Mahomes having an amazing season, there were a few other MVP candidates that were vying for the award. New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had an incredible season led by his outstanding passing numbers and a 13-3 record, and Minnesota Vikings signal-caller Kirk Cousins led his team to the playoffs for the first time since 2009.
But at the end of the day, it all came down to Mahomes taking home the highly-coveted award. His tenacity and incredible performances throughout the season made him the front-runner for the award, and I think he fully deserved it.
Mahomes had some great competition for this award, but ultimately, it was his production and leadership that gave him the edge over the other contenders. He was the driving force behind the Chiefs’ success on the field and in the standings, and it was no surprise to see his name on the MVP list.
It’s an incredible feeling for me as a fan to see Patrick Mahomes take home the award. It’s a huge honor for someone so young and will hopefully lead to a long career of success for the Chiefs and Mahomes.
The journey to Kansas City was never easy, wholesale jerseys but Patrick has certainly made it worth it. I mean, let’s not forget the powerhouse team he inherited and all of the other pieces than were put into place by Head Coach Andy Reid, making it all come together. wholesale jerseys from china Mahomes to Reid, the Chiefs have a true recipe for greatness.
That said, the Chiefs have certainly gone on a Cinderella run, going from a 4-12 record in 2018 to 12-4 in this season alone. That’s a huge jump, and Mahomes was the key to the team’s amazing rally.
I’m sure that getting the MVP award made the season a little more special for Mahomes, and it’s genuinely great to see him rewarded for the effort and energy that he has put into the team. I’m excited to see what he will do next season.
Now that the Chiefs have some playoff experience under their belt, they understand what it takes to make it to the big stage and beyond. I’m sure Mahomes will be out to prove that the MVP award was no fluke.
It’ll be fascinating to watch him and the Chiefs next season. I’m sure they’ll have something to prove and I’m looking forward to following their run!
