I was about to go to an NFL game this week and I had a simple question in my mind – what size bag is allowed in NFL stadiums? I’ve been to plenty of games before, so I figured it was probably just a duffle bag with the typical fan morning. The NFL bag policy is actually rather strict. While the bag policy can sound overwhelming, it’s important to remember that it’s in place for the safety of all fans attending the game. No one wants anything bad to happen, so it’s wise to plan ahead and get familiar with the bag policy at the stadium you’re attending. If you don’t have an approved bag, don’t worry; there are usually vendors outside the stadium who sell authorized bags that are approved by the NFL.
On the plus side, the NFL’s policy allows you to enter the stadium with a water bottle that is filled with your favorite drink, as long as it is unopened and clear plastic. This is especially great for attending games in hot weather; it’s nice to be able to stay hydrated without having to spend tons of money on the drinks sold inside the stadium.
In addition to the bag policy, the NFL has certain rules around what kind of items you can bring inside the stadium. Obviously, weapons are not allowed; neither are flares, umbrellas, noisemakers, firecrackers, outside food or drinks. Oh, and don’t even think about bringing your pet, either!
So now that I know the rules, it’s time to go to my game! I hope everyone has a good time, and I’m so glad that the NFL has taken steps to ensure the safety of all of its fans. Now if I could just remember where I put my official NFL approved bag…
