I have such fond memories of watching Paul Coffey play during his tenure in the cheap nhl jerseys. It’s always been a special moment seeing the veteran defenseman chase down speedy forwards in the neutral zone and set them up for scoring chances. I’ve been a fan of Paul Coffey ever since I was a kid. I always found his attitude towards the game inspiring and it’s something that really resonates with me.
The defenseman spent the majority of his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers. His nine-year tenure with the team was nothing short of spectacular. During this time, he registered 270 goals and 951 points in 580 games. He helped lead the Oilers to a Stanley Cup championship in 1984 and three consecutive first place finishes in the Smythe Division from 1983 to 1985.
A few years after his time with the Oilers, Paul Coffey was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1987. While he was there he posted an impressive totals, including four seasons with over hundred points. It was during this time that he established himself as one of the premier defensemen of the decade, and guided the Penguins to the Stanley Cup championship in 1991.
After four seasons in Pittsburgh, Coffey was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1991. The move helped the team to its first playoff run since the 1977–78 season. They even made it to the Stanley Cup seminfinals after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in the first round.
Coffey continued to move around the league over the next three years, playing stints with the Detroit Red Wings, Hartford Whalers and the Philadelphia Flyers. He spent his last season playing for the Chicago Blackhawks before finally retiring in 1999.
Paul Coffey is one of the most decorated defensemen in NHL history and his legacy continues to live on. His remarkable career spanned 20 years and his accomplishments will forever be remembered. He won three Stanley Cups, holds the record for most goals by a defenseman in a single season (48) and ranks fourth all-time in cheap nhl jerseys scoring amongst defenseman. He was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.
In my opinion, Coffey should go down as one of the best blueliners of all-time. His work ethic, poise and drive to succeed in a tight-knit hockey community was and still is a great source of inspiration for many.
