Being from Dallas, I have a soft spot for the Cowboys. Growing up I had their posters on the walls as a teenager and watched every game they played. Being an NFL coach is difficult; it takes a great deal of intelligence, dedication, and experience. No player does it alone, and it certainly takes an incredible team effort. Also, winning isn’t everything! It’s a major part of the American football culture that each coach must deal with. But winning an initial game doesn’t guarantee a coach will have a successful season, and conversely, losing a game doesn’t indicate a season is doomed. A coach’s leadership and skills don’t always determine the outcome — which I think is an important lesson in life for any football fan.
Some coaches focus more on recruiting new players, while others concentrate on building team morale. Whatever their approach may be, all NFL coaches share a common goal – creating a winning team. To reach that goal, they have to combine all the right resources together, such as coaching strategy, knowledge, and an unwavering faith in their players’ skills.
