They had nine blocks last year and with their strong defensive line I expect that number to go way up this year. I think the Detroit Lions have a good chance too with their young, aggressive defensive line and return man Jamal Agnew.
The other teams that I think have a good shot at this title are the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Denver Broncos. All of these teams have strong special teams, plus they all have capable return men that could make the difference for them.
Overall, I’m expecting the number of blocked punts in the NFL 2022, to go up from the 13 we saw last year. With experienced teams like the Jaguars, Jets, and Bills in the mix, it’s likely that they’ll increase their blocked punt totals if nothing else. And I think teams like the Falcons, Lions, Cardinals, Chargers, and Broncos will be the ones to watch out for. It’s going to be an exciting season, and I can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
