did any of the miracle team play in the nhl

It was more than 30 years ago when a legendary hockey team, called “The Miracle” was formed. They represented the United States in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid and shocked the world by beating the heavily favored Soviets 4-3 in the semi-finals. It was a big deal. It was a glorious moment in sports history and cemented the team’s place in history.

But, did any of the Miracle Team play in the NHL? Growing up, I was always curious about this question. I remember my dad telling me about this incredible feat and how the team overcame incredible odds to pull of one of the great upsets of all time.

While the team achieved great success as a team in the Olympics, there was always a lingering question about individual Olympic success. Most of the team didn’t go on to have successful cheap nhl jerseys careers, but a few did. Mark Johnson, the hero of the victory against the Soviets had a very successful NHL career, playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Hartford Whalers, and the Minnesota North Stars, among other teams. He finished his 12 year career with 164 goals and 185 assists.

Goaltender Jim Craig didn’t have as successful of an NHL career, bouncing around the minor leagues and playing in only 3 nhl shop games. However, he earned an inductee in the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to team USA.

Perhaps the biggest success story of the Miracle team was Mike Eruzione. He was the captain of the team and it was his famous goal that clinched the gold medal for the US. He never played in the NHL, but he did land a gig as the p.r. director for Olympic hockey, which gave him incredible opportunities to work with future Olympic teams.

The Miracle Team was one of the biggest stories in the sporting world in 1980 and it’s one that will never be forgotten. It was incredible to see the success the team achieved – something that I don’t think can ever be duplicated. It was truly the stuff of legends!

I’m sure most of the team members passed their hockey knowledge, spirit and determination down to the younger generations. Even those that didn’t make it to the NHL, kept the dream alive by coaching at the youth level or running hockey training centers.

It’s amazing to think that these players were able to beat the odds and capture the spirit of the nation. It’s a moment in time that will be remembered for generations. It truly was a miracle that will never be forgotten.Yajun Griswold #00 Chicago Blackhawks Ice Hockey Jerseys NHL Men Sweatshirts Women Long Sleeve T ...
