I can hardly believe it! A De La Salle alum is now playing in the National Football League! His name is Jalen Richard and he’s currently with the Oakland Raiders.
I first knew of Jalen when he was a standout Junior High football player at De La Salle High School in Concord, California. Back then, I was an alumni at the same school, and I remember watching him play in awe. The boy had talent! Of course, Jalen went on to excel in High School and played college football for Southern Mississippi before getting picked up by the Raiders.
Even as a teenager, Jalen had dreams about playing in the wholesale nfl jerseys from china. He was so determined that he tried out for multiple teams before getting his big break. I believe that having a Lasallian in the National Football League really is the perfect symbol of what our values and our school spirit can do — overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
I must say, looking back on my time at De La Salle — the pride I feel seeing one of our own chase his dreams and eventually make it to the NFL — that is something else entirely!
Now that it’s happened, I am certain of one thing – if Jalen could reach this far, no dream is too farfetched and no goal is impossible.

When I read an article about Jalen Richard and his incredible journey to the NFL this weekend, I was in awe. As a proud Lasallian, I knew I had to find out more about him.
I was truly amazed by the fact that he never gave up, no matter what obstacles lay in his path. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in himself, he made it in the end. It was an incredible story of how one thousand tiny steps can lead to one giant leap.

Jalen Richard is an amazing example of what can be achieved with a never-give-up attitude and a strong La Salle spirit. With his perseverance and determination, he taught us that there are no limits to what we can achieve if we put our minds to it. He has inspired me to never give up on my lofty dreams.
